Smart phones, tablets, e-books… and now Smart TVs. This is the new TV concept adapted to the digital age, which integrates the internet and web 2.0 characteristics in what used to be called the “box”. Box is too simple a description now… because the latest TVs enable us to connect to the internet, download films, see and share photographs, make video calls to anywhere in the world, play games, practice sports, shop, chat, share educational activities with our kids and a long list of other options.

We have gone from having to get up to change the channel to simply saying “Hello TV” to switch it on, without moving a finger; from having a bulky, square device taking pride of place in the living room, to a high quality flat screen that, in the near future, could well become a larger than usual tablet.

It is certainly the star product among TV manufacturers, who aim to offer multifunctional products for all ages. Can you imagine the entire family reading an enhanced book on the TV screen?
