      Quick Guide to translating with Phrase

      1. Access the job in Phrase by either
        1. Clicking the link in the assignment email,
        2. Clicking the link on the job id in the Semantix Vendor Portal or
        3. Logging in to Phrase and identifying your job there. Bookmark this link: https://cloud.semantix.com/web/login
      3. Click the button Open in Memsource.
      4. Select the translation file(s) and change the job status to Accepted by Linguist.
      5. Open the translation file(s) in Phrase Editor or Phrase Web Editor.
      6. Translate the file(s) and confirm each segment.
      7. Run a QA check.
      8. Make sure all segments are confirmed. Check the complete instructions for more details on how to do this.
      9. Select the translation file(s) and change the job status to Completed by Linguist.
      10. Go back to the project page in the Portal and click I Finished the Job.

      FAQ: Technical errors and solutions

      • Can’t access Phrase via the XTRF project link?

        This is correct – new safety regulations prohibit direct access to Phrase from XTRF. To start working in Phrase:

        1. Log in to Phrase separately (go to memsource.com and click Login).
        2. Find your username under CAT tools on your XTRF profile page.
        3. When asked to provide either username or email address, provide your username.
        4. Not working? Click Forgot your password? and follow the instructions.

        Still not working? Write to your Project Manager. Describe your problem with screenshots. The Project Manager will find a solution together with our technical department.

      • "Memsource account inactive" error message?
        • Ask your Project Manager to assign you to the project that you are trying to reach – your Phrase account is only accessible when you are assigned to an active project.

      • The new Phrase password doesn’t work…
        • Did you reset your Phrase password to your email address? This could mean that you reset your password to another account. Instead, reset your password again to your username in Semantix’ Phrase cloud.

          Find your username in the XTRF portal under CAT tools on your XTRF profile page.

      • Can’t set the project to Completed?
        • Run the QA! Check for unresolved issues according to our instructions for QA.

      Quick Guide to working with revision in Phrase (frm. Memsource)

      1. Click the link in the assignment email to go to Semantix Vendor Portal.
      2. On the job page in Semantix Vendor Portal, click the button Open in Memsource.
      3. Click on the file(s) under Jobs. The file is opened in the Web Editor on a new tab in your browser.
      4. Go through the translation. Confirm each segment by hitting Ctrl + Enter.
      5. Enter any changes in the target column, or use the comment function to write suggestions and comments.
      6. Qlik on the QA tab in Phrase and then Run all checks. Resolve any issues.
      7. When you’re done, go back to the Phrase project page, hit F5 to refresh and make sure it says “100%” under Confirmed.
      8. Click I finished the job in Semantix Vendor Portal.
      9. Which general grade would you give this translation (1-5, where 5 equals perfect)? Note your grade in the slot Notes for Project Manager in the Vendor Portal. This grade is for internal use only.

      Revision (examination of the translation)

      Comparing source and target texts to ensure that the target text fulfils its purpose in the target language’s culture and that terminology is used correctly and matches any reference material. This must be done by someone other than the person who did the translation. The following must be ensured:

      1. that the full meaning of the source text has been reproduced
      2. that the spelling, punctuation and figures are correct
      3. that the terminology is consistent and follows current industry terminology
      4. that the translation is idiomatically correct
      5. that any required target group adaptation has been carried out
      6. that any provided reference material has been used
      7. that the project has been delivered in accordance with the Purchase Order and other project instructions.
