The proofreading is always carried out by a linguist who is a native speaker of the language in question. This is done by ensuring that the spelling, punctuation, and figures are correct.

The proofreading is always performed by someone other than the person who did the translation. It is the proofreader’s job to ensure that the document is ready for printing.

This step relates solely to the text and the formatting of the text; no attention has to be paid to the layout.

We calculate a productivity of approx. 2,500 words/hour.

      How to proceed

If you have received a proofreading assignment, read the text thoroughly and make sure it is does not contain any errors such as:

      • Typos
      • Text formatting errors (e.g. double space, bold punctuation marks, words partly in italic)
      • Grammatical errors

You can either correct these errors, or mark them and comment on them, depending on specific project instructions.
